Sergey Suetin: Irbitsky dairy plant is preparing to reduction of consumer demand

"As for the work of the enterprise, Irbitsky dairy plant shows a stable growth in sales of its products since the beginning of the year, within 25%. Today, we do not see the impact of the pandemic on sales volumes", said Sergey Suetin.

However, the expert noted that at the moment the company is preparing to reduction of consumer demand – the reason is rising unemployment, falling purchasing power of the population due to the coronavirus.

"We have to prepare for a decrease in consumer demand – unemployment is growing, income is declining. Sooner or later, demand will fall, but it is too early to talk about the percentage of this fall. So far, it can only be judged by indirect signs", Sergey Suetin added.

Earlier, The DairyNews reported that to date, major players in the dairy market have temporarily suspended investment projects in anticipation of market stabilization after the epidemic.
