The authorities of Tatarstan plan to build 17 agro-industrial parks in large cities of the region in 2018, at present they operate only in Kazan and Naberezhnye Chelny. This was announced by Prime Minister of Tatarstan Aleksey Pesoshin at a meeting of the State Council on Thursday.
"A promising direction is the creation of a network of agro-industrial parks, including the ones in rural areas. To date, parks in Kazan and Naberezhnye Chelny are already operating, 17 rural agro-industrial parks are being created in 14 large cities of the Republic", he said.
Mr. Pesoshin added that the agriculture of the Republic fully provides the population with the main types of products. The authorities will also develop the direction of agricultural fairs.
"Last year, 16 fairs were organized in all major cities of the region, they sold products worth more than 1 billion rubles", the official said.
