Soyuzmoloko is seeking the exclusion of all products with milk fat substitutes from the Technical Regulations for milk and dairy products. According to general director of the organization Artem Belov, today it is advisable to continue working on bringing our technical regulations in accordance with international practice, writes The DairyNews.
‘Now Soyuzmoloko seeks an exclusion all products that contain milk fat substitutes from the Technical Regulations for milk and dairy products 033/2013. We believe that such products should have their own regulation as an independent category of products. This will allow us to harmonize the technical regulation that exists in Russia with international practice,’ the expert said.
According to Artem Belov, if we talk about the use of palm oil in Russia, only a little more than 10% of the total import volume is used in the dairy industry. The remaining 90% are used in other industries, primarily in the confectionery industry.
