Stefan Duerr called Danone and PepsiCo rivals of "EkoNiva" in terms of milk
"We played today at the Bernabeu stadium. Among rivals there was Fernando Morientes, we won 4:3. Our rivals in milk are Danone and PepsiCo. We think we will defeat them too", wrote Stefan Durr.
A year ago, the founder of “EkoNiva” noted that the goal of the agricultural holding is to process all produced milk. The company entered the milk processing sector in 2012, but active development began after the acquisition of the plant “Mosmedynagroprom” in Kaluga region and the Anninsky dairy plant in Voronezh region.
To date, the volume of daily milk production by “EkoNiva” farms amounted to more than 2 thousand tons. As stressed by Stefan Duerr, speaking at the VII Summer dairy summit, currently the company is doing the construction of 15 modern dairy complexes. By 2025 the company intends not only to produce 6 thousand tons of milk per day, but also to process it at its own facilities.
According to experts interviewed by the DairyNews, the competition of such large processors as Danone, PepsiCo and EkoNiva can lead to higher prices, largely due to the lack of quality raw materials.
It is worth noting that the company Danone is implementing a joint project for the production of milk with Damate group in Tyumen region not for the first year. In 2017 "Tyumen dairy farms" (the amount of investment in the project is about 5.6 billion rubles) officially launched the complex - the volume of production was about 4.8 thousand tons of milk per year. In 2018 the complex reached its designed capacity of 42 thousand tons of milk per year.
