Switzerland wants to expand the list of meat and dairy companies supplying products to Russia

This became known during the meeting of the Deputy Head of the Rosselkhoznadzor Konstantin Savenkov with Deputy Director of the Federal Agency for veterinary and food safety of Switzerland Thomas Yemmi, writes The DairyNews with reference to the press service of the Supervisory authority.
In particular, the participants of the meeting touched upon the expansion of the list of Swiss enterprises producing meat and dairy products and having access to the Russian market.
Konstantin Savenkov explained that after receiving and analyzing the previously requested information necessary to resolve this issue, there will be considered the possibility of inspection of Swiss enterprises.
Thomas Yemmi noted that the Federal Agency for veterinary and food safety is currently carrying out a comparative analysis of the legislative framework and the system of veterinary control of Russia and Switzerland, which will contribute to the establishment of effective trade between the countries.
"Switzerland has started to develop its own information system in the field of veterinary medicine and expressed readiness after its launch to begin integrating with the Russian Federal state information system "Mercury", - said Mr. Yemmi.
The Rosselkhoznadzor, in its turn, drew the attention of the Swiss party to the successful cooperation of Russia in the field of practical application of electronic certification with many countries, in particular China, New Zealand, Chile and the Netherlands.
It should be reminded that in February the Rosselkhoznadzor asked Switzerland for information on accreditation of Russian cattle breeding enterprises for beef, pork and poultry meat supplies.
