TH True Milk may become the biggest investor in Russian dairy farming

If the Vietnamese TH True Milk executes all the announced Russian projects, it will become the biggest investor in Russian dairy farming.
Around $220 million will be invested into the first stage of the dairy unit for 12,000 cows in Kaluga Region before 2019, according to a representative of regional government. TH True Milk also plans to build processing facilities, but details of the second stage of the project are not specified yet.
During the first stage the company intends to build five typical farms for 12,000 cows in Moscow Region in 2016-2017, a dairy factory and a feed producing plant. During the second stage (2017-2020) - four farms for 9.6 thousand cows. Volume of investments will total $300 million during the first stage and $200 million – during the second stage.
In case the company executes all the announced Russian projects, it will become the biggest milk producer in the country. As it was reported earlier, the foreign company planned to build dairy units for 152 thousand cows, estimated volume of investments in the past year amounted $900 million.
