The Cabinet of Ministers does not see the need to postpone the labeling of other goods, except for dairy products
He noted that the issue of whether to postpone the introduction of mandatory labeling with identification tools in the context of the spread of coronavirus infection has been repeatedly discussed within the working group at the government site, including with the participation of industry unions.
"The business community's appeals to the government of the Russian Federation on this issue were also considered", said Yevtukhov. According to him, in particular, the National Union of shoemakers appealed to the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin with a request to prevent the postponement of mandatory labeling of footwear products to a later date.
"As a result, the following decisions were made: to extend the term of the experiment on labeling of dairy products for the period up to December 31, 2021, to postpone the mandatory labeling of dairy products starting since January 20, 2021, and to avoid the need to postpone the introduction of mandatory labeling for other commodity groups", added the Deputy Head of the Ministry of industry and trade.
