The dairy farm "Miratorg" plans to produce more than 6 thousand tons of milk in 2017

As it was reported in the press service of the company "Miratorg" the Agrofirm "Blagodatnenskaya", a part of the company, will produce more than 6 thousand tons of milk in 2017, reports The DairyNews.
The Agrofirm "Blagodatnenskaya", located in Kursk region, includes a dairy farm, as well as Russia's largest infrastructure project on raising and fattening of calves of dairy breeds of cattle. The total number of cattle on the dairy farm is 2,200 heads, 55% of the total herd are animals, imported from the Netherlands. "Miratorg" acquired the dairy farm at the end of 2014 and consistently invested in the modernization of production, increase of efficiency and improvement of the genetic potential of the herd. In 2016 the company additionally bought 450 Holstein heifers, which are characterized by high productivity and maximum adaptability to climatic conditions.
By the beginning of 2018, the company plans to complete the replacement of the herd with imported animals with high genetic status. They will be introduced to the main herd, and from their progeny there will be formed a pedigree nuclear herd for own replacement and future selection and breeding work.
"The company focuses primarily on improving business efficiency by ensuring high quality and safety of the finished products. Thanks to the efforts of company productivity in 2017 shows a steady growth. For five months of 2017 total milk production of the farm amounted to more than 2.5 thousand tons. We plan to increase yields to 6.3 thousand liters from average cow for the year," - commented the press service of the company.
