The dairy farm of "Miratorg" in Kursk region has increased milk production by 43% to 8 824 tons in 2018
The Agrofirm "Blagodatenskaya", a part of the holding, is a pilot project of "Miratorg" in the raw milk production. In 2017 it also became the basis for an infrastructure project for the raising of young dairy cattle and the production of a unique dietary product for the Russian market - pink veal.
The number of cattle on the dairy farm "Blagodatenskaya" was more than 1,700 heads at the end of 2018, most of the animals are of Holstein breed, which is considered to be one of the best in productivity in dairy cattle breeding if there is a correct diet and appropriate conditions are ensured.
Improving production efficiency while maintaining a consistently high quality of products is one of the main strategic directions of development of the holding companies. In 2018 due to veterinary measures and breeding work, milk yield per forage-fed cow increased to 8.3 tons from 6.8 tons a year earlier.
More than 1 150 calves were born on the farm; most of them were later delivered to a specialized facility for rearing young stock of the "Agrofirm "Blagodatenskaya" for further fattening and production of veal.
"The increase in productivity has a beneficial effect on the cost of production, which means that it allows reducing the price of the finished product for the consumer. The farm also provides strict veterinary control, which not only minimizes the risks of diseases for animals and increases their productivity, but also ensures the safety of products", - commented the press service of the agricultural holding.
