The dairy industry is growing and it will need exports, - Mikhail Mishchenko
As we wrote earlier, according to DIA, the volume of milk processing and production of dairy products in Russia continues to grow. In 2020, Russian enterprises processed 20.3 million tons of raw milk, which is 2% more than in 2019 and 27.7% more than in 2013.
‘Demand is a key growth factor. Demand has been and remains high due to covid-19 and closed borders. Horeca and domestic tourism generate demand for cheese and cheese products. This is clearly visible in the high dynamics of cheese companies, many of them showed the highest rates. This saved (for a short time) Altai. We see that the pandemic has crippled the inflexible. Some producers of traditional milk have sunk significantly, for example, Piskarevsky Dairy Plant. The world is changing, and we need to understand this already. The milk has a different meaning and content. The number of consumers for whom the presence of milk in dairy products is not mandatory is growing. It is necessary to understand, accept and be ready. At the same time, quality remains a priority for the consumer. Neither "Mercury" nor labeling will save us from falsification. Only a request for quality from the end user. In addition, many manufacturers of almost dairy products have realized this. An example is Ecomilk - a two-faced Janus with a margin and opportunities,’ Mikhail Mishchenko noted.

Otherwise, the expert believes, the industry will return to stagnation and probably reduce production.
