The draft law on criminal punishment for falsification can be submitted to the State Duma before the end of the year
"By the end of the year the bill will be submitted to the State Duma. Now the document is being worked out with the participation of business", the press service noted.
The document prepared by Rospotrebnadzor proposes to supplement the criminal code of the Russian Federation with an article according to which the participants of the scheme involved in the production, importation into the country or sale of falsified food products should be criminally responsible. At the same time, it is proposed to fine for violations in the organization of nutrition in preschool and other educational organizations, medical and health institutions and social service organizations for the amount from 1 to 3 million rubles.
In addition, earlier the Head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova noted that one of the measures to combat the production of falsified products in the consumer market may be the confiscation of equipment from dishonest manufacturers.
According to Rospotrebnadzor, to date, about 4% of all inspected food products are falsified, for 9 months of 2017 this figure is slightly higher - 5%. However, in some categories of goods violations occur more often, for example, more than 20% of imported fish, inspected by the specialists of the Department, contain excess glaze (ice).
