The EEU countries have defined a transition period for the introduction of labeling of dairy products
"All dairy products that are exported to Russia must be marked with special codes, otherwise they will be illegal. Therefore, all the approaches that we discussed were aimed at not getting a freeze frame, as they say, and the goods did not stop somewhere in Smolensk region", Myasnikovich said.
"We have agreed on a transition period that would allow us to optimize solutions so that the dairy group of products is legal on the Russian market", said the Head of the EEC.
Also, according to him, the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council discussed the decree of the government of the Russian Federation dated April 30, 2020 No. 616, which actually restricts access of industrial goods from Belarus, Kazakhstan and other countries to the Russian market.
"There was introduced a rule that a sufficiently large amount of added value in the product that enters the market should be created in Russia. We agreed that not only what has been created in Russia, but also in other EEU States, will be included in localization or added value", Myasnikovich said.
"I think this is a very good decision", he said.
In addition, Myasnikovich reported on the approaches of the EEU countries to remove trade barriers.
"We have initiated the creation of a special Committee that will consider controversial positions. Countries will always strive to support domestic producers and defend the interests of their state. This is correct. But we need to make sure that this does not harm our partner in the Eurasian Economic Union", said the Head of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
