The enterprises of the Group of companies Ekoniva are preparing to launch the second stage of labeling of dairy products
The labeling of dairy products with DataMatrix codes in the "Honest mark" system started on June 1, 2021. During the first stage, the application of labeling codes became mandatory for ice cream and cheeses.
During the second stage, since September 1, 2021, all dairy products with a shelf life of more than 40 days must be labeled. Thus, ultra-pasteurized milk, cream and butter produced by Ekoniva fall under the mandatory requirements, they are produced at two sites in Kaluga and Voronezh regions. The changes will affect four high-speed lines.
The development of technical and IT solutions began in 2020. To implement the system, a working group of specialists from the sites and specialized managers of the directions has been created. At the moment, new operations and equipment necessary to meet legal requirements are being tested and introduced into production processes.
‘The labeling codes will be applied to the products of the second stage in a typographic way – for us this is a guarantee of the quality and readability of the "Honest mark" on the product. The first batches of packaging with the applied code have already been delivered to the sites – we do not see any problems at the moment,’ said Lyubov Aksenova, Head of the GR – service of the Group of companies Ekoniva.
Ekoniva is in constant contact with the relevant employees of the Center for Advanced Technologies Development (CATD) on all operational issues of working with the Honest mark system.
‘By the example of the experience of the Group of companies Ekoniva, we see that early preparation for labeling brings results. The company is already testing the processes due to a proactive approach and dialogue with the authorities and the operator of the Honest mark system,’ said Revaz Yusupov, Deputy General Director of the CATD.
