The expert: the opening of the Crimean Bridge will increase three times sales of milk from Kuban to the Peninsula

"Today about 10% of the dairy products of Krasnodar region finds a market in the Crimea. This volume, due to the opening of the Crimean Bridge, can be increased to 30% for dairy products, that is, to increase it three times", - said Boeva.

In her opinion, the Crimea has a great potential: the flow of tourists is growing; Kuban dairy products are actively acquired by the resorts of the Peninsula. "If earlier the cars were waiting for the weather for weeks, now the products will be delivered on time", - said the Deputy.

According to her, in the next ten years the Krasnodar region plans to increase milk production five times. Moreover, up to 40% of production will account for farmers and 60% - for large agricultural holdings. Now Kuban produces 1.2 million tons of milk per year. Among other factors, new legislative framework will contribute to the increase in production.

"In the Krasnodar region there is going on a discussion of the law on the development of cattle breeding. This document will oblige farmers to have at least three head of cattle on 100 hectares of land to provide support for the fertility of the land, using natural fertilizers", Boeva concluded.

Earlier it was reported that on Monday the X Dairy Olympics, which gathered about 300 participants from 15 countries, in Sochi started. It will last three days. The program of the Olympics includes the VI Summer Dairy Summit, Dairy Forum of the Russian regions, the IV International Cheese forum.

The Crimean Bridge connected the Kerch Peninsula (Crimea) with the Taman Peninsula (Krasnodar region). The need for its construction arose after the reunification of the Crimea with Russia in 2014. The bridge will provide continuous transport connection of the Peninsula to the mainland of Russia.
