The Federation Council proposed to cancel customs duties on components and raw materials for infant formula
The lawmaker reminded that earlier senators have drawn the attention of the Cabinet of Ministers to the need to ensure high-quality and safe products for feeding young children.
"The Committee will continue working in this direction, including the establishment of a zero rate of customs duties on components for the production of powdered adapted infant formula for nutrition of children of early age, the non-application of temporary restrictions on exports of these products in connection with possible risk of loss of economic stability of its producers and to create a "green corridor" in the case of raw materials and components for production of powdered infant formula in Russia", said Mayorov to reporters.
"Today, our Committee sent an appeal to the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Viktoriya Abramchenko on all these issues", added the Senator.
In addition, the decision of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission approved the list of goods of critical import, which are exempt from customs duties on import of ready-made food products intended for young children and the basis for the production of breast milk substitutes, he added.
