The Group of Companies Molvest will increase cheese production by 20% in 2021%
By the end of 2021, the Group of Companies Molvest plans to increase the production of semi-hard cheeses at its main site – JSC Kalacheyevsky cheese factory - by 20% compared to 2020, to 14.5 thousand tons. In 2020, more than 12 thousand tons of cheese were produced.
The volume of investments in the expansion of production this year will amount to 400 million rubles (including VAT). The plant produces a wide range of cheeses under the brand "Vkusnoteevo" (creamy, tilsiter, Kalacheevsky, Russian, light, mature), and also produces cheeses under contract production with Arla Foods under the brands Arla and Arla Natura.
The partnership of JSC Kalacheyevsky cheese factory and Arla Foods began in 2012. The production site of the Group of Companies Molvest is the only one in Russia where cheeses of the Danish-Swedish holding are produced. At the same time, the entire technological process – from the input of raw materials to the output of the finished product – is carried out by employees of Kalacheyevsky cheese factory.
‘Currently, three main trends are clearly expressed in the Russian cheese market - increased competition, an increase in imports (due to Belarusian products), a decrease in the average receipt mainly due to the growth of promotional cheeses on store shelves. According to our forecasts, by the end of 2021, the market will grow by 5% in physical terms compared to 2020 due to increased consumption,’ comments Anatoly Losev, CEO of Group of Companies Molvest.
In 2019-2020, the Group of Companies Molvest invested more than 1.5 billion rubles in expanding cheese production by 25%. In the medium term, these capacities are sufficient to meet demand.
According to the Association Soyuzmoloko, GC Molvest took the 10th place in the rating of cheese producers in Russia by results of 2020.
GC Molvest processes more than 500 thousand tons of milk per year and produces about 280 types of dairy products under the brands "Vkusnoteevo", "Molvest", "Felicita", "Nezhny vozrast", "Fruate", "Ivan Poddubny" and others. It takes 11 liters of milk to produce 1 kg of cheese.
