The import of palm oil to Russia increased by 0.7% in 2017

According to the report of Rosstat on the state of foreign trade, the import of palm oil in 2017 amounted to 891 thousand tons. In December there was imported 129 thousand tons, or 92.9% more than in November 2017.

Imports of cheese and cottage cheese last year also increased by 0.4% and reached 223 thousand tons. For comparison, in 2016 the growth rate of cheese and cottage cheese imports increased by 6.8%.

Supplies of butter to Russia have decreased by 6.3% to 89.7 thousand tons.

The import of non-condensed milk and cream has increased by 32.3% to 322 thousand tons. Import of condensed milk and cream increased by 1.4% and amounted to 239 thousand tons, including import of milk and cream powder - 172 thousand tons (-6.8%).

As a whole, in 2017 the foreign trade turnover of Russia, according to the Bank of Russia, amounted to $590.9 billion (124.8% to 2016.), including the export – $353.1 billion (125.3%), import – $237.8 billion (124.1%).
