The increase in the price of exchange-traded dairy products stimulated the increase in the cost of imports – Ekaterina Zakharova
‘At the moment, the import price is 36.23 rubles/kg, 0.2% higher than last week and 7.7% higher than August 2020. The price of whole milk powder is at the level of 30.39 rubles/kg, 14.8% higher than in August 2020. The price of a pair of skimmed milk powder + butter is 40.32 rubles/kg, 0.25% lower than last week (due to a decrease in the price of butter at the BUCE auction) and 15.7% higher than in August 2020. The price of a pair of cheese + whey compared to last week increased by 0.56% to 33.99 rubles/kg, only 4.4% higher than the level of 2020,’ she said. ‘We observed a decrease in the import price in mid-June 2021, due to the strengthening of the ruble and lower prices for butter and skimmed milk powder at the Trigona Dairy Trade auction.
We remind that DIA uses data on the dynamics of prices at the auctions of the BUCE, the Dutch Trigon Dairy Trade and the New Zealand Global Dairy Trade for calculations.
Earlier, we reported that the 290th GDT (Global Dairy Trade) auction of August 17, 2021 ended with a slight increase. For the first time in a long while, the price index for dairy products showed a slight increase, 0.3%, prices for all key dairy products increased except for whole milk powder.
