The largest dairy brands in the top 100 according to Euromonitor

The analysts of Euromonitor presented the top 100 fastest growing brands in the consumer goods sector. According to this rating, in 2017, the share of such mega-brands accounted for 14% of all FMCG sales in the world. The main role was played by the sale of categories of packaged food, cosmetics and personal care products, as well as soft drinks, writes The DairyNews.

Although some major brands have kept their places in the rating, the balance in the list shows a shift. People's attitude to health and premium quality is evolving and brands that are unable to accept the new realities, have losses. Changes in the way people explore markets and shop online have a profound impact on the entire ranking, the main indicator of which is retail sales. In addition, the importance of various regions of the world has changed for many of megabrands, developing the question of where the company should focus its resources most effectively, noted in Euromonitor.

The main sales of the top 100 are in the Asia-Pacific region.

The importance of the Asia-Pacific region - and especially China - for sales of FMCG is proved by the fact that among the leaders of the top 100 there are a number of "monogamous" megabrands. These are FMCG brands that are sold in one country, but have high performance, sufficient to expand sales at the global level and are in the top 100. Examples of such brands from China are dairy brand Mengniu (the 16th place in the top 100 in the world), dairy brand Yili (the 18th), as well as vegetable oil of the brand Arawana (the 24th).

Two Chinese dairy brands are among the top 10 largest brands of packaged food in the world.

International dairy brands (including baby food) start with the 40th position in the rating. Thus, the 40th position is occupied by the brand Nutricia.

The 44th position is occupied by the brand Activia, owned by the group Danone.

The 46th position is occupied by the Japanese dairy brand Yakult.

The 51st position is occupied by Nestle brand.

The 58th position is occupied by the brand M&M's (manufacturer Mars Corp), which, as recently found out by The DairyNews, supplies milk drinks to Russia. Read more on the link.

The 65th position is occupied by another Chinese brand, Wahaha. The 73rd position is occupied by Indian dairy brand Amul.

The 86th position is occupied by the brand President.

The 70th position is occupied by the Quaker brand, which also produces milk-free alternatives.

Similac – a brand of baby food takes 88th position. The 89th position is occupied by the Hershey's brand, a supplier of dairy products including milkshakes and flavored milk.

The 93rd position is occupied by the famous yogurt brand Yoplait.

The 96th position is occupied by the brand Danone, and the 97th – by Arla.
