The liter index DIA declined in July 2021
DIA analysts calculated the Liter index based on Rosstat data on the monthly nominal salary of Russians and prices for drinking milk (whole, pasteurized, with a fat content of 2.5-3.2%), mineral and drinking water, and table grape wine with a strength of up to 14%. The Liter index is the volume of drinking milk, water and wine in liters per month that Russians can buy on a salary.
If we convert the nominal salary of Russians for July 2021 into liters, we will get 917.3 liters of drinking milk (6.3% less than in June 2021 and 6.7% more than in July 2020) or 1490.7 liters of drinking water (6.6% less than in June 2021 and 3.8% more than in July 2020) or 118 liters of wine (6.3% less than in June 2021 and 2.5% more than in July 2020). In addition, DIA analysts calculated how many liters of raw milk can be bought for a nominal salary per month based on the Dairy Index DIA, the Liter index of raw milk was 1905.7 (4.9% less than in June 2021 and 1.7% more than in July 2020).
The decrease in the Liter index in July 2021 was due to a decrease in nominal wages, while prices for all products except raw milk increased slightly in price compared to June 2021. The Dairy Index DIA in July 2021 decreased by 1% compared to June indicator and amounted to 28.95 rubles/kg (excluding VAT, fat and protein content - 3.6% and 3.0% respectively). The nominal salary in Russia in July 2021 amounted to 55.2 thousand rubles, 6% lower than in June 2021 and 10% higher than in July 2020.
