The Ministry of agriculture expects growth of purchase prices of milk to the end of the year up to 23.5 rubles per kg
"We hope that by the end of the year the price will increase slightly and will amount to about 23.5 rubles per 1 kg. I think that the measures that we are taking will help to achieve this," said D. Patrushev to reporters at the Day of the Russian field in Lipetsk region.
According to him, at present the average purchase price of milk is 21.5 rubles per 1 kg.
In recent years, the Russian dairy sector has experienced difficulties due to decrease in milk prices. It was also caused by the fact that domestic products could not stand competition with cheaper milk powder from Belarus. Lately, the agricultural departments of Russia and Belarus have agreed on the balance of supply of milk and dairy products, compliance with which will normalize the situation in the dairy market.
The technical regulations of the Customs Union "On the safety of milk and dairy products" found that the milk containing product - it is a food product made from milk, or its components, or dairy products, or by-products of milk and non-dairy components processing, according to the technology providing the possibility of replacing milk fat in the amount not exceeding 50% of the fat phase exclusively by a substitute for milk fat and allowing the use of protein of non-dairy origin not to replace milk protein, with a mass fraction of milk solids in the dry matter of the finished product of at least 20%.
On June 29 the Ministry of agriculture of Russia held a meeting on the additional requirements for food products with the replacement of milk fat with more than 50% non-dairy components, including vegetable fats, as well as on the feasibility of raising VAT rates for products with milk fat substitutes.
As a result of the meeting, it was decided to further study the issues and recommended that the meeting participants submit proposals to the Ministry of agriculture with relevant supporting materials, including calculations of changes in the volume of food production with the replacement of milk fat with non-dairy components and its cost, the Ministry said.
It has to be reminded that the Dairy Index RDRC on July 2, 2018 amounted to 23.26 RUB / kg (excluding VAT, fat and protein content - 3.6% and 3.0% respectively), which is 0.56% lower than on June 25, 2018 and 6.6% lower than the price at the beginning of July 2017.
