The Ministry of agriculture: grain, fish and vegetable oils are leaders in the structure of Russian exports

In the commodity structure of Russia's exports, the share of food products and agricultural raw materials amounted to 5.8% in 2017.

In comparison with 2016 there increased exports of poultry meat – by 42% up to 163.3 thousand tons, pork – by 44.7% up to 27.3 thousand tons, frozen fish – by 9.4% up to 1.4 million tons, dried legumes – by 30.4% up to 1.3 million tons, wheat – by 30.4% up to 33 million tons, barley – 1.6 times up to 4.6 million tons, soybeans - by 23% up to 519.7 thousand tons, rapeseed – 3.4 times up to 191.4 thousand tons, sunflower seeds - 1.7 times up to 313.6 thousand tons, vegetable oils - by 26.6% up to 3.1 million tons, margarine – by 12.4% up to 182.2 thousand tons, molasses – by 44.3% up to 730.6 thousand tons, sugar – 5.3 times up to 553.8 thousand tons, chocolate – by 18.4% up to 186.6 thousand tons.

In terms of value, the main commodity items in the structure of agricultural exports were: 

• cereals (36.4%, including wheat - 28%); 
• fish and fish products (16.8%, including frozen fish - 9.9%); 
• vegetable oils (11.8%, including sunflower oil - 8,6%); 
• food industry waste and residues (4.2%); 
• tobacco and tobacco products (3%); 
• chocolate (2.6%); 
• dried legumes (2%). 

Amid growing exports in 2017, compared to 2016, there decreased imports of cattle meat – by 2.2% to 358.7 thousand tons, butter – by 6.5% to 98.8 thousand tons, eggs – by 13% to 81.3 thousand tons, soybeans – by 2% to 2236.7 thousand tons, coconut oil – by 19.3% to 73 thousand tons, sugar – 2.1 times to 266.3 thousand tons, raw tobacco products – by 20.5% to 154.3 thousand tons.
