The Ministry of agriculture has prepared a draft of indexes for identification of reconstituted milk

The Ministry of agriculture of Russia published on a single portal of normative legal acts the draft document "On introducing amendments № 1 to the Technical regulation of the Customs Union "On safety of milk and dairy products" (TR CU 033/2013)", reports The DairyNews.
The end date of the public discussion of the draft is 19 July this year. Suggestions and comments are accepted via e-mail: m.borodina@mcx.ru
The draft document provides the establishment of requirements for identification and safety indicators to the reconstituted milk as a finished dairy product, packaged in consumer packaging and to raw materials for the production of dairy products except for drinking milk in the technical regulations of the Customs Union "On safety of milk and dairy products".
As it is noted in the explanatory note to the document, its adoption will enable dairy producers to realize the production of reconstituted milk in the form of dairy products, packaged in consumer packaging.
Currently, the requirements for identification and safety performance of reconstituted milk are not determined in the text of the Technical Regulations. In this regard producers of dairy products are experiencing problems with conformity of the product and are often forced to use less attractive to consumers name of the product "milk drink" instead of the name "reconstituted milk", it is underlined in the explanatory note.
