The Ministry of agriculture held a meeting on labeling
Market participants discussed a number of issues related to improving the methodology.
According to representatives of industry unions, the feasibility of introducing labeling for each specific category of goods should be considered based on clear criteria of expediency, determined on the basis of official data and taking into account all the positive and negative effects for business and the state. At the same time, the Federal Executive authority responsible for the legal regulation of the product group in question must participate in the feasibility assessment. In addition, during the event, it was noted that in order to make a decision on the inclusion of goods in the labeling system, it is necessary to have reliable information about the volume of illegal trade by industries.
In addition, the Ministry of agriculture of Russia took part in a meeting on the progress of the experiment on labeling by means of identification of certain types of dairy products. The event was held with the participation of the Ministry of industry and trade of Russia, the CATD, industry unions, as well as enterprises participating in the experiment. As it was noted during the meeting, despite the objective difficulties associated with the current epidemiological situation, work continues within the approved schedule of the experiment. The Ministry of agriculture of the Russian Federation expects to complete approval of detailed plans for testing labeling processes for each project participant as soon as possible. In addition, the criteria for the success of the experiment, allowing you to give an objective assessment of its results are being approved within the departments.
Earlier, industry unions raised concerns about allowing outsiders to enter food enterprises for the sake of product labeling.
