The Ministry of agriculture will insist on reducing the list of products made with the use of milk powder. This became known as a result of the meeting held in the Ministry with the members of the National Union of milk producers, reports The DairyNews.
The first Deputy Head of the Ministry of agriculture Dzhambulat Khatuov during the event stressed that the Ministry has full information about the movement of dairy products in the country, and the relevant departments conducted a deep analysis of the figures for several years and developed forecast prices.
"Milk powder and butter for the food processing industry is like oil and gas for other industries, so we have to rely on the verified balances. The business oriented on long – term – 3-5-year-contracts with producers should help in their drawing up. This will greatly strengthen the industry and the possibility of civilized market regulation", - said Khatuov.
"The participants of the dairy market have several priorities: to ensure the profitability of milk production at the level of 20-25% for farmers; to regulate the loading of processing enterprises and the importation of milk powder; to put a barrier to falsified products in the dairy market", - said the Head of the Economy Department of the Ministry of agriculture Anatoly Kutsenko.
He also said that the Ministry of agriculture will insist on reducing the list of products that can be produced using milk powder.
Earlier it was reported that the Ministry of agriculture intends to act as a regulator of the dairy market.
