The Ministry of agriculture promised to do a full registration of the livestock within five years
The point of no return in dairy cattle breeding has not been passed, believes the parliamentarian. One of the topical issues today, according to Ponomarev, is the reduction of the number of cows.
- Livestock, productivity and volume of production – these are the three indicators that form a triangle of sustainability. If any of these components begins to decrease its value, the triangle is deformed. Then there is something like this: the reduction in consumer demand entails price volatility, it was observed in summer in the dairy market. It provokes other negative consequences, including a decrease in the interest of investors, - said the Deputy.
As noted by the Deputy Minister of agriculture Dzhambulat Khatuov, also present at the forum, 44% of the volume of milk in the country is produced at enterprises with a population of less than 400 cows.
- To date, the number of animals continues to decrease. We would like the Ministry of agriculture to come up with an initiative to take more detailed registration of livestock, including chipping. It will allow to change a situation, - noted Ponomarev.
According to Dzhambulat Khatuov, "the number of cattle has been decreasing for the last 10 years and it will continue. Today the situation in agriculture is difficult due to lack of personnel. Hence, the task is to encourage young people to be engaged in the agricultural sector".
- In the next 5 years, the livestock will be registered. We believe that the agricultural cooperation is able to change the situation, concluded Khatuov.
