The Ministry of agriculture: the differences between dairy products and products with substituted milk fat should be clearly indicated in the technical regulations
The formation of mandatory requirements for products in the technical regulations of the EEU and the introduction of changes in them, taking into account law enforcement practice, is one of the priority issues under the control of the Head of the Ministry of agriculture Dmitry Patrushev.
According to Dzhambulat Khatuov, the Ministry of agriculture of Russia is constantly working to improve the provisions of the technical regulations of the Customs Union (Eurasian Economic Union), containing requirements for food, including dairy products.
"The Ministry of agriculture of Russia adheres to the position, which implies the need for clear characteristics in the technical regulations, allowing to distinguish dairy products from products with substitutes for milk fat", stressed Dzhambulat Khatuov.
The representatives of the expert community also note the importance of developing standards for products with substituted milk fat at more than 50%. The standards need to establish terms and identification indicators for these products. Market participants emphasize that such products are a popular segment of the market of economy class. The main purpose of regulation is to provide information to the consumer and to avoid deception.
According to the heads of relevant departments of the Ministry of agriculture of the Russian Federation, Russian producers have all the opportunities to increase production of raw milk, the volume of which is constantly growing.
As a result of the meeting, Dzhambulat Khatuov instructed the industry experts to provide their proposals to the Ministry of agriculture of Russia on amendments to the technical regulations and development of relevant standards in the near future.
