The Ministry of Industry and Trade urged sole proprietors to be more actively involved in labeling dairy products
This was stated at the All-Russian Conference on the introduction of labeling of dairy products for small businesses by the Deputy Director of the Department of digital labeling and legalization of product turnover of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia.
‘We see that individual enterprises are less actively involved in the labeling system. I urge them to step up this process. Since the approbation of this process will allow us to start working more readily,’ said the representative of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia.
He noted that this would allow testing the maximum number of business processes and preparing for the entry into force of mandatory labeling requirements on September 1 and December 1, 2021.
‘Currently, more than 20 thousand companies are registered in the product labeling system. Of the legal entities that will have to introduce mandatory labeling since September 1, 2021, 89% have registered in the system, and 44% among individual entrepreneurs. If we talk about the third stage of mandatory labeling, which starts on December 1, 2021, 84% of legal entities have become participants in the labeling system, and 14% among individual entrepreneurs,’ said a representative of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia is engaged in business support measures. Thus, in government Resolution No. 303 of March 3, 2021, the conditions for providing assistance from the budget were changed in order to stimulate industry. Now, they also apply to projects in the field of product labeling. These changes will allow both producers of dairy products and producers of packaging, who purchase equipment for labeling, to use the loan of the Industrial Development Fund. In addition, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has included the equipment necessary for printing packaging with applied identification tools in the list of equipment that is not subject to VAT when imported into the territory of the Russian Federation.
‘We are considering the possibility of offering the Ministry of Agriculture to check the presence of the applicant's registration in the labeling information system when issuing veterinary accompanying documents for dairy products. Its absence should become the basis for the non - issuance of such documents,’ said the representative of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia.
