The most significant increase in milk production in Russia is still demonstrated by Ekoniva

The annual growth volume of Ekoniva alone turned out to be slightly less than the volume of milk production in 2020 by all enterprises of Tula region - which occupies the 40th place in Russia in terms of milk production, according to DIA data, quoted by the DairyNews.

Ekoniva slowed its growth 2.5 times in 2020 compared to 2019. This is obvious - it is impossible to grow forever at such a gigantic pace, being the largest milk producer in the country.

It is worth noting that 11 companies showed growth in 2020 exceeding 40% compared to the previous year. First of all, these are LLC Koloss (+71%), which produces 14% of all milk in Lipetsk region, Sarmich holding (+70%) - one of the largest cheese producers in Russia, as well as enterprises owned by the Sobin family - one of the largest milk producers of the Udmurt Republic.

In general, one hundred of the largest milk producers showed positive dynamics in 2020, having increased production by 750 thousand tons in total while the entire dairy industry grew by 1 million 076 thousand tons in 2020. Thus, the share of the 100 largest companies accounted for 70% of the increase in raw milk production in the country.

However, there are 9 companies in the rating that showed a drop in milk production, totaling 31.6 thousand tons.
