The number of cows on April 1 in Russia decreased by 1.3%

According to Rosstat, the number of cows in Russia on April 1 amounted to 8310.8 thousand heads. This is 1.3% less than in the same period last year, according to The DairyNews.
Total number of cattle according to Rosstat amounted to 19259.9 thousand heads (-1,4%).
At farm holdings on April 1, they fixed 2486.2 thousand heads of cattle (+7%), including cows – 1216.7 thousand heads (+5.6%).
In the sector of agricultural enterprises the number of cattle has reached during three months of the year 8386.7 thousand heads, having decreased by 1.5%, including 3341.9 thousand heads of cows (-0,9%).
In smallholders, according to the materials of Rosstat, as of 1 April the number of cattle amounted to 8386.9 thousand heads (-3.5%), including cows - 3752,2 thousand heads (-3.7%).
