On May 2 Deputy Minister of agriculture of the Russian Federation Yevgeny Nepoklonov held a conference call with the regions of the Volga and Ural Federal districts to implement the system of electronic veterinary certification (EVC), reports The DairyNews with reference to the Ministry of agriculture.
Yevgeny Nepoklonov reminded that in accordance with the requirements of laws and instructions of the Government of the Russian Federation, the system of the EVC is to be introduced since 1 January 2018.
"It is important to introduce electronic veterinary certification for all stakeholders – livestock producers, processors and retailers," said Yevgeny Nepoklonov.
He said that the introduction of EVC among the subjects of the Volga Federal district and UFO lead Kirov region (issued more than 2.4 million certificates), Chelyabinsk region (over 3.8 million) and the Republic of Tatarstan (over 2.8 million).
During the meeting, representatives of regional authorities and the veterinary services reported on the readiness for the transition to electronic veterinary certification within a specified time. They also reported on the main problems they faced while implementing the system. Among them there are failures in the Federal state information system "Mercury", which records the information of the electronic veterinary certification, imperfections of information security, the lack of communication between the veterinary certificates for raw materials and ingredients and certificates for finished products etc.
The Deputy Minister instructed to create working groups on the implementation of EVC in all regions and ensure effective and efficient flow of information of EVC in the Federal state information system "Mercury".
