The peasant farm holding “MiraSyr” in Moscow region is building a goat farm for 3,600 head

A new large-scale investment project is being implemented in Moscow region to create a dairy processing enterprise with breeding goats in Kolomna city district. This was announced by Minister of agriculture and food of Moscow region Andrey Razin, writes The DairyNews with reference to the press service of the regional Ministry of agriculture.

"The project is implemented by the peasant farm holding "MiraSyr". It is planned to organize a large farm for breeding goats of the Zaanen breed and a milk-processing complex. The total investment in the project will be about 338 million rubles", said Andrey Razin. 

According to the Minister, commissioning of the farm is planned for the end of 2021.

"The total average annual number of 600 goats will be increased to 2.5 thousand head of milking goats and the total herd will be 3.6 thousand head. After the project reaches full capacity, the farm plans to receive up to 2.8 thousand tons of milk per year, or about 370.5 thousand kilograms of cheese and more than 86 tons of meat", said Andrey Razin.

The project provides for the creation of about 35 new jobs for residents of Moscow region.

"For the implementation of the project, the investor will be granted land plots under a long - term lease without bidding with a total area of 640 hectares in Kolomna city district", concluded Andrey Razin.

The main producers of goat milk in Moscow region are large peasant farm holdings. In 2019, more than 2 thousand tons of goat milk were produced.
