The price index at the Global Dairy Trade auction has started to grow again

The 290th GDR (Global Dairy Trade) auction of August 17, 2021 ended with a slight increase. For the first time in a long while, the price index for dairy products showed a slight increase, 0.3%, prices for all key dairy products increased except for whole milk powder.
The weighted average price for dairy products at the 290th GDR auction was 3.827 USD/kg. Taking into account the weakening of the ruble against the dollar compared to previous auctions, the weighted average price of dairy products in the Russian currency increased by 1.7% to 280.8 rubles/kg, which is 28.14% higher than in August 2020.
In total, 22,543 tons of dairy products were sold at the auction, 1.5 thousand tons less than at the previous auction. The number of bidders - 180.
At the auction, the prices of butter (+4%), cheddar (+2.8%), skimmed milk powder (+1.1%), dehydrated milk fat (+1.5%) increased, only the price of whole milk powder decreased by 1.5%.
The next Global Dairy Trade auction will be held on September 7, 2021.
