As it was stated by Stefan Durr, the head of the company "EkoNiva", in his speech at the Agricultural forum of Russia, the price of milk in Russia is below the level that would stimulate the growth of dairy production, writes The DairyNews with reference to RNS.
"There is no better incentive than a good price on the market. For various factors, the price that would stimulate us is not yet obtained. We are developing because of the large state support. If tomorrow there is no state support, the growth of the dairy industry in Russia will stop very quickly, - said the speaker, adding that the growth of prices is hampered by the use of palm oil and vegetable fats: - the main reason for the low price is not even Belarus, it is possible to compete with it. We can't compete with palm oil and a milk fat substitute. If there was better order here, the price would restore and the industry would become more attractive".
