The production of milk in the Russian Federation in the first quarter of the year increased by 1.5%

The production of raw milk in the first quarter of the year on farms of all categories amounted to 6407.5 thousand tons that is 1.5% more compared to the similar period of the last year, reports The DairyNews referring to Rosstat.
In the sector of agricultural enterprises the production of raw milk by cattle increased by 3.1% from January to March this year, according to Rosstat. In total agricultural enterprises produced 3737.8 thousand tons of milk.
In household of people milk production decreased by 2.6%, according to the materials of the statistical office. From January to March, smallholders produced 2233.1 thousand tons of milk.
In farm holdings milk production in the first quarter of the year increased by 9.7% to 436,4 thousand tons.
