The reduction in the supply of Belarusian dairy products to Russia is unlikely to be noticeable in the coming year
Earlier, the opposition in Belarus announced a nationwide strike in the country. According to a number of experts quoted by the publication gazeta.ru if agricultural enterprises go on strike, this will primarily affect the dairy industry.
‘Now we hardly see any changes, as the official press says - the agro-industrial complex can't just be stopped, cows must be milked and people want to eat. However, in the long term, the overall situation may change,’ said a representative of one of the companies.
Another market participant noted a slight decline in production, but called it seasonal and not related to "strikes".
According to the expert of the dairy market, doctor of technical sciences Oleg Dymar, ‘in the short term (up to six months), we can predict the absence of large fluctuations.’
‘Still, the market capacity of the Russian Federation is quite large and there are no significant sharp fluctuations on it. However, there are trends. One of them is the objective growth of Russia's own milk production. While maintaining the purchasing power of the population, this means a reduction in imports.
