The results of the year in the agro-industrial complex of Russia created a good foundation for the future - Gordeev
"The conditions created this year in the industry and the planned prospects allow us to say that a good foundation has been formed for work in the next year and that there is an opportunity to carry out the main work - the spring field work - at a high level", Mr. Gordeev said.
"Speaking in general, the outgoing year was not bad for farmers. There has been collected not a record but a high grain harvest, food prices are good and incomes are good", he said, adding that the majority of farms will remain among the profitable farms this year.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, state support for the industry this year was at a good level; in 2019 it will increase by more than 50 billion rubles. "There is money available, we must think how to use it properly", he said.
Positive results of the year were formed, in particular, due to the growth of exports. "In many ways, this is the result of a high harvest last year, the main sales volume of which was transferred to the current year, and it all was included into the total revenue", Gordeev said.
According to him, the export of agricultural products in 2018 will reach $25-26 billion.
Last year, Russia's export of agricultural food amounted to $20.7 billion.
"But it is too early to boast of export growth", the Deputy Prime Minister said. - The point is not to hope that there will be good weather conditions and there will be another record harvest of grain in the first place. And due to this exports will grow".
According to him, a great potential for export growth lies in finding new markets for products, increase its competitiveness, expand the range. We are talking about meat and dairy products, confectionery. But most importantly, he stressed, it is necessary to switch to export products with high added value. "For example, to trade not only grain, but more flour, which is much more profitable", he said.
Gordeev also called the decision to develop the Federal program of rural development an important event of the year. He believes that this document, which should be adopted in mid-2019, should be given the status of the national project.
According to Rosstat, the grain harvest in 2018 amounted to 112.8 million tons against 135.5 million tons in 2017.
According to the forecast of the Ministry of agriculture, in 2019 the area under agricultural crops will be 80.5 million hectares, which is 1.3 million hectares more than this year. Spring sowing is planned for 52.9 million hectares, which is 400 thousand hectares more than in 2018. The area under spring grains and leguminous crops will increase by 700 thousand hectares, to 30.3 million ha. In particular, it is planned to increase areas under wheat, maize for grain and buckwheat.
It is planned to sow less oilseeds than this year - 1,241 million hectares against 1,391 million hectares this year.
