The Rospotrebnadzor may become responsible for monitoring the quality of food products
According to the text of the project, the Rospotrebnadzor is proposed to be an authorized Federal body of Executive power implementing the state policy in the field of quality assurance and food safety, as well as the organization of quality monitoring, food safety and the health of the population (further – the authorized Federal body of Executive power).
It is also noted that during the implementation of monitoring it will be possible to use the data of the state information system in the field of veterinary medicine and other state information systems, including information on food products (goods), including the system "Mercury", the effect of which has recently been extended to finished dairy products.
It is also assumed that after the adoption of the document, information interaction between the monitoring bodies and other bodies (services, organizations), including veterinary, determined by the list, is carried out on the basis of electronic means of communication, including the use of a single system of interdepartmental electronic interaction.
We will remind that the main body of food control in the Russian Federation remains the Rospotrebnadzor, but the Rosselkhoznadzor, referring to the decision of the Customs Union Commission №317, carries out veterinary control of finished products.
