The Rossekhoznadzor estimated the volume of supply of "Mlekovita" products to Russia
"The Rosselkhoznadzor publishes the volumes of dairy products previously imported by “Mlekovita” to Russia and informs that the company is not one of the major suppliers of such products to the Russian market", the report says.
According to the Department, the company Spoldzielnia Mleczarska Mlekovita exported 16.9 thousand tons of milk and dairy products to Russia in 2013-2014: in 2013 - 11 thousand tons, in 2014 - 5.9 thousand tons. From the total volume of deliveries, there were imported 6.2 thousand tons of cheeses, 4.5 thousand tons of whey, 750 tons of butter, about 5.4 thousand tons of milk, cream and other types of dairy products.
"In April 2014, the Rosselkhoznadzor was forced to impose restrictions on the supply of products from this company due to repeated detection of E.coli bacteria in its composition", the service adds. The food embargo, under which Russia banned the import of certain types of products from countries that have imposed anti-Russian sanctions (including EU States), was introduced in August 2014.
"If the restrictions imposed by the Rosselkhoznadzor on a Polish company were lifted, it would be impossible to supply the company's products to Russia during the period of the food embargo. Similar measures apply to the supply of a set list of products from all companies located in countries that are subject to special economic measures of Russia", says the Russian agency.
Earlier, we reported that Mlekovita exported products worth almost $100 million in the first quarter of 2020.
