The Rosselkhoznadzor denied the information about the possible shortage of baby food
"Regarding the information that appeared in the press, which was initiated by Danone, in particular, on the expected shortage of baby food, the Rosselkhoznadzor considers it necessary to inform that such statements do not reflect the real situation and are aimed only at certain social unrest", she said.
Melano added that "regarding the unreadiness of enterprises to certify their finished dairy products in the “Mercury” system, the Rosselkhoznadzor has repeatedly reported and continues to insist that this situation is not a reflection of the realities due to the fact that today about 16% of all finished dairy products produced in Russia are certified on a voluntary basis in the “Mercury” system".
"At the same time, as we remember, last year, when “Mercury” was introduced, almost until the last day it was assumed that finished dairy products would enter there, even then most of the enterprises were ready to work in “Mercury”. We announced the transition and spreading of “Mercury” to finished dairy products over the past five years, so we can continue to talk about the unreadiness of companies, but it makes no sense", she said.
The press service of Danone reported that "the change in decision 317 of the Customs Union Commission was aimed at controlling "cheese - like" products, but as a result will affect the segment of specialized products for people, primarily for children with special diseases or health conditions: severe allergies, metabolic disorders, prematurity".
