Many entrepreneurs import banned products into Russia under the guise of goods for personal use and then sell them. This was stated in the press service of the Rosselkhoznadzor to the radio station "Moscow Says".
"There are so-called "cheese and sausage tours".... Batches can be significant - each person can import up to 5 kg of each type of product, that is, one person can import several dozen kilograms of different sausages and cheeses", explained in the Rossekhoznadzor.
The Rosselkhoznadzor noted that such products are not checked at customs posts and they may be unsafe.
Earlier, the media reported that the National Meat Association proposed to ban the import of meat and dairy products to Russia, including jamon and Parmesan cheese popular with the Russians, for personal use by individuals. Later, the government reported that such a ban is not being discussed.
