The Rosselkhoznadzor: Russia is not yet ready to remove the restriction on the supply of milk from Belarus
"The Rosselkhoznadzor cannot confirm the announcement by the Belarusian colleagues about the complete lifting of restrictions on the supply of dairy products from Belarus to Russia. Such statements are very premature", said Melano.
She noted that now the countries are working according to the terms of the road map signed in June. "We note some progress in this regard", said Melano. At the same time, she said, when checking the tonnage of products manufactured by Belarusian companies and the volumes of products supplied to Russia by the relevant enterprises, a number of inconsistencies were revealed. In addition, the problem of product safety has not been solved yet, she added.
As previously reported, the Rosselkhoznadzor banned the supply of certain types of milk and dairy products from Belarus in containers of more than 2.5 liters since June 6 due to the fact that the Republic of Belarus continued to supply "unsafe dairy products".
On June 9, the Rosselkhoznadzor and the Department of veterinary and food supervision of the Ministry of agriculture and food of Belarus agreed on the procedure for lifting mutual restrictions on dairy products supplies for 2018. Subsequently, the Rosselkhoznadzor allowed the supply of milk in bulk to seven Belarusian companies. At the same time, the Head of the Rosselkhoznadzor Sergey Dankvert said that the Agency does not plan to remove restrictions widely and open the market for Belarusian milk suppliers to Russia.
