The Russian government has expanded the Federal Scientific and Technical Program for the Development of Agriculture

Grants in the form of subsidies from the federal budget are allocated for the implementation of complex scientific and technical projects selected for participation in the subprograms. Four subprograms will cover such areas as "Development of production of feed and feed additives for animals", "Development of breeding and seed production of oilseeds", "Improvement of the genetic potential of beef cattle", "Development of viticulture, including nursery breeding".

The Federal Scientific and Technical Program is designed to remove dependence on technologies and imported seed material in crop production, breeding material in animal husbandry, feed production, storage and processing of agricultural products. With the help of this program, it is planned to provide the Russian market with high-quality and competitive agricultural products of domestic production.

Among the goals of the new subprograms is the development of domestic technologies for the production and use of compound feeds, their ingredients, which allow improving the balance of feed ration for farm animals and poultry. The introduction of competitive varieties and hybrids of sunflower, soy, rapeseed and oilseed flax of domestic selection will help reduce dependence on the import of seeds of these crops.

In addition, the implementation of the subprograms is aimed at developing and introducing new, as well as improving existing technologies in the field of genetics, biotechnology and breeding of beef cattle, improving the assortment of grapes, the use of virus-free planting material for plantings and the use of new highly effective technologies for cultivating this crop.
