The share of Belarus in world milk trade amounted to 6% - Alexey Bogdanov

During the presentation "Belarusian dairy exports-2021 in the context of global challenges and competition", the speaker said that the country produces 1% of milk fr om the total world production.

Last year Belarus exported 4.8 million tons of dairy products, taking the fourth position in this segment after the EAEU, New Zealand and the USA.

The dairy processing industry of Belarus is represented by 35 enterprises that processed 7.8 million tons of milk in 2021. Dairy products are supplied to 58 countries of the world.

‘In recent years, we have been making a greater bias towards final processing,’ the head stressed. ‘The country produces 1.5 thousand units of whole-milk products and 320 types of cheeses.

According to the expert, the traditional leader of the dairy industry is still Brest region, wh ere the production of 1 ton of milk in monetary terms is more than 1.3 thousand rubles.

Vitebsk and Gomel regions are in second and third place, and Grodno region needs to "catch up" with them.
