The supply of dairy products to Russia grew by 46% during the year

According to analysts, the supply of dairy products to Russia from far-abroad countries during the year increased in volume by 46% from 129 000 tons to 189 000 tons, which is still significantly below the import volumes to Russia in 2013/14 prior to introduction of the food embargo.

According to DairyAustralia, the volume of butter supplies increased by 59% (24 000 tons), lactose – by 79% (25,000 tons), skimmed milk powder – by 111% (28,000 tons) and whole milk powder - by 287% (27 000 tons).

The value of exported dairy products to Russia from the far abroad rose by 43% to $ 609 million, while the value of exports of whole milk powder increased almost 4 times and amounted to $ 71 million. The category of infant formula has reduced the value by 17% to $ 134 million but continues to be the most expensive.

The analysts of DairyAustralia remind that since the introduction of embargo the main suppliers of dairy products to Russia from far abroad have been the South American countries and New Zealand.
