"The information system of the Ministry of industry and trade on labeling is being launched now in a pilot mode. When it is fully operational, it will be possible to clearly compare the advantages of these systems both for the state and business. And also to assess its readiness for integration with existing traceability systems", said A. Gordeev, whose words were reported by his press service.
However, he noted that "the system "Mercury" (electronic veterinary certification - Interfax) has been put in operation and is working effectively". "There are no complaints from agricultural producers about the work of “Mercury”, he stressed.
Electronic veterinary certification of animal products, the introduction of which the Rosselkhoznadzor promoted since 2015, began to work on July 1, 2018. But the finished products of processing industries were excluded from “Mercury” - in particular, because of the resistance of the largest milk processors.
The Ministry of agriculture earlier reported that since April they will gradually introduce dairy products into the system of electronic veterinary certification. On Thursday, the Ministry reported that they do not expect interruptions or delays in delivery of products for trade. According to the Ministry of agriculture, the system is working normally.
At the same time, at the end of May 2018, the Center for the development of advanced technologies and the dairy company Danone signed an agreement on an experiment on the labelling and traceability of finished dairy products. At the same time, Danone noted that the national system of digital labelling and traceability proposed by the Center for the development of advanced technologies is more promising for the dairy industry compared to veterinary certification.
The labelling system is supported by the Ministry of industry and trade.
According to “Vedomosti” newspaper, the Ministry of economic development opposed the including of finished products into the veterinary certification system. It prepared a resolution on the regulatory impact assessment of the proposals of the Ministry of agriculture, calling them insufficiently justified. In addition, they can lead to an excessive load on business, believe in the Ministry of economic development.
