The Union of milk producers and processors of Leningrad region was established
Yuri Braginets, a member of the Board of Soyuzmoloko, President of the concern “Detskoselsky” was elected Chairman of the Union, and Denis Nikolaev, Deputy Head of the administration of the concern “Detskoselsky”, became the General Director of the new Association.
The meeting on the occasion of the signing was attended by Deputy Prime Minister of Leningrad region – Chairman of the Committee on agriculture and fisheries Oleg Malashchenko. "The constantly changing market situation related to technical regulations, labeling, and export of dairy products requires timely decisions and consolidated actions from the industry. Leningrad region is one of the leaders in Russia in dairy farming and in order to move forward, we need global, strategic solutions, we need a constantly working collegial body that can quickly solve emerging issues and advise producers", he stressed.
About 100 organizations are engaged in milk production in the region. Leningrad region ranks first among the regions of the Russian Federation in terms of milk production with an indicator of 8608 kg of milk and is in the TOP 10 milk producers in agricultural organizations – 591 thousand tons.
According to the results of 6 months of 2020, the region produced 328.8 thousand tons of milk (103.9% by 2019), the yield per forage-fed cow was 4598 kg (105.3%).
