Tver breeding is under attack
LLC "Tverplemservice" is located in Kalinin district of Tver region. In recent years, the organization has carried out activities in a number of areas, including as a regional breeding enterprise for the storage and utilization of cattle bull semen, as well as a regional information and selection center (RISC). The range of tasks of RISC includes scientific and methodical, service and information support of work of breeding animal husbandry of regions, including implementation of services in marking and identification of animals.
According to representatives of farms of Tver region, at the moment breeding enterprises cannot carry out pedigree sales.
– At the moment we have animals, they need to be sold as there are no additional places in barns and there is simply no place to keep them. In addition, selling pedigree animals we get the money from the buyer, and the government supports a breeding farm with subsidies. In other words, if the situation does not change, we will have no state support. For us it is very important, – explained the employee of JSC "Kalininskoe", answering the question of The DairyNews,.
According to the enterprises interviewed by the news agency, the search for an optimal solution to the situation lies in the competence of the regional Ministry of agriculture, whether it is an extension of the license of LLC "Tverplemservice" or an agreement with the Department of the neighboring region on cooperation with Tver enterprises.
The representatives of LLC "Tverplemservice" refused to comment on the situation, citing the lack of response from the Ministry of agriculture of Tver region.
Meanwhile, as the source of The DairyNews reported, the reasons for the suspension of the RISC license are still unknown – they are being clarified.
– We understand that delaying the process has a negative impact on the industry. For our part, we have fulfilled all the stated requirements. At present we are waiting for a response from the Ministry of agriculture, they didn’t explain the reasons for non-renewal of the license yet, – told in LLC "Tverplemservice".
The regional Ministry of agriculture did not respond to the request of the news agency by the time of publication. However, we will continue to monitor developments.
Meanwhile, it should be noted that more than 150 thousand tons of raw milk are produced in Tver region, including more than 107 thousand tons produced at large and medium-sized agricultural enterprises. A number of companies carry out the sale of pedigree dairy cattle.
