Udmurtia switches to round-the-clock milk production
300 million rubles of the company's own funds have already been invested in launching a new industrial-type production facility equipped with world-class high-tech dairy equipment. And this is not all – the construction of the second stage of the mega farm, in general, designed for housing 1,712 animals, continues.
For everyone who wants to get acquainted with the work of the new complex, there was organized a tour and experts came from all over the Republic. Its launch, indeed, was historic for the entire dairy industry of Udmurtia – many of the technologies used here have no analogues in the Republic, production and technological processes are automated as much as possible. They were demonstrated for guests in operation – the first stage of the complex was launched here in the last days of 2019. It includes two cowsheds with 428 places each, a milk parlour, four silo pits and a manure disposal unit with a FlashFlume system that allows automatic separation of animal waste. The solid fraction will be used as a bedding material for cows instead of traditional sawdust. Water recovery also provides for resource savings: water after cooling the milk in the cooling tanks will be supplied as drinking water for animals.
A computer weather station is responsible for the comfort of cows; the station will take the direction and speed of the wind, and close and open roll-up and inflatable curtains that have replaced traditional farm windows. It will also receive a signal from temperature sensors and automatically switch on and off installed on the ceiling the horizontal fans, whose function is to mix the air layers.
The "heart" of the new dairy production was the carousel milking parlor produced by the Swedish company DeLaval. On a rotating platform 50 cows can be present at the same time, the milking process takes only eight minutes. This is the third "Carousel" launched in Udmurtia in recent years. But its peculiarity is that it allows you to set up production of milk on an industrial scale, that is, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. At the same time, the raw material is instantly cooled already in the process of entering a special tank, which provides it with the highest quality, and the farm – with a high price for the produced product. It is planned to enter this mode of operation on the farm in the coming months, after the barns are fully filled with animals.
The implementation of the investment project continues – the frame of the third cowshed has already been built, and it will be put into operation in November this year. And in September, a feed center, also equipped with advanced Israeli technologies, will start operating next to the complex. The final goal set in "Kolos" is to get 30 kg of milk from each cow, and bring the daily gross milk yield on the farm to 100 tons, and increase the average salary of its employees to 50 thousand rubles.
Today, “Kolos” is already a recognized leader in dairy farming in Udmurtia and ranks second in the top producers of the Republic. Gross yield in 2019 amounted to almost 25 thousand tons, an increase to the level of 2018 is 19%. Productivity for the year increased by 18% - 8437 kg per cow. There are more than 3 thousand milking cows on 11 dairy farms now, the total number of cattle has reached 9160 head.
