Valio places increased requirements to milk quality
- Before starting cooperation with the farm, Valio specialists conduct an audit for compliance with established corporate standards, during which, among other things, areas for development can be identified. After the audit, work with the supplier does not end. For example, in Leningrad region, where supplier farms successfully use the AIV silage harvesting technology, which was created by the founder of the Valio laboratory Artturi Virtanen and for which he was awarded the Nobel prize in chemistry. The company's staff also help farmers in the testing of dairy equipment, in monitoring the welfare of the animals, in the evaluation of forage quality and in many other ways.
